This is quite the read so I apologize in advance. This is not satirical nor joking in any way, however looking back I see that it I suppose an interesting read no matter what you believe. I'm not a religious person although I believe there to be a God of sorts, my opinion is that the Bible is a man made construct and that most of the stuff is metaphorical. So there clearly isn't any inclination to chalk this up to a vision from elsewhere however I see no other explanation. Anyways, this happened about an hour ago and I have never been so shaken in my life. I am going to give every detail in hopes that someone may have some guidance or may relate. I have studied psychology extensively, so I'm not looking for a psychoanalysis as this felt so much more than that. I have had a falling dream where right when I hit the ground my body goes numb and I wake up with my body spread across my bed and I can't move, but this time it was much worse. As ridiculous as this may sound, this is all very real to me, feel free to share this with whomever you'd like. This is everything I remember: I am really focused on playing this video game where I fight off these zombie-like creatures and I'm using a portable turret to shoot them. As I play, I find myself drawn in more and more and everything starts to peel around me. One of my old friends that I hadn't seen in years is with a whole bunch of people that I couldn't quite discern and cracked a joke about how there was no way I was playing this well without cheating. I laugh dismissively and pay attention once again only to notice that I'm being overrun. I know in my mind, rather than being overtaken, I should just end the game by committing suicide. In this moment I really take in the room. It's in a white, circular room that has a walkway along the wall with a railing. This walkway connects and then leads downward towards something like a deck and instead of water, it's a chasm of darkness. It's faintly illuminated by what seemed to be lanterns far below, and I know that there lies my answer. So now I am the player and with adrenaline coursing through my veins I sprint after my teammate who had just leaped over the railing and jump into this abyss with the idea that it is still a game and I would just restart after. I have been in many falling dreams, and I normally wake up before the impact like most people do. However, this dream felt much different I immediately knew something was amiss. I tumble through the darkness and began to make my way towards the lanterns deep below. These lanterns get brighter and brighter as I come closer, further illuminating this chasm to where it is now lit to its entirety. As I continue to drop I looked around me and there is suddenly a sky with clouds of creamy white-yellow and quickly approaching were cliffs surrounded by a pitch black that seemed to hug the sides. Deep below, I see what I believe to be my teammate also making his way down through the air with the only evidence of his presence as a lantern to show the outline of his silhouette just before the darkness starts once again. I attempt to ride the wind created by my fall much like in skydiving, however there doesn't seem to be any and instead I am tumbling at an alarming rate. I quickly pass the figure who barely seems to be falling when I manage to balance my body facing up and I realize that this was never my teammate at all. Right as I notice this, I slam into the bottom neck-first with a jarring crack and pain shooting through my entire body. As my body goes limp, I see the distant light before the darkness begins at the foot of cliffs and the figure suddenly rushes me lantern-less and lands on my body with hidden claws that seem to dig into my chest. It's face is scarred and pockmarked as it makes a bloodcurdling sound somewhere between a hiss and a scream. At this moment, I feel something worse than fear. I am numb however this feeling surpasses just one of the body and reaches to the core of my being. I am suddenly afraid for not just my life, but my soul as well. Suddenly, I am aware of the fact that I am still in bed however this does nothing to ease me. Now I am partially awake however I feel as if my soul is being wrenched from me. As the darkness creeps in my vision, all that remains is it's hideous face. I now find myself looking over a grey river and littered throughout are impaled heads on spikes. The river is bordered by a grassy knoll of grey and has a calmness about it despite the gruesome heads. As darkness takes my vision once again, a new scene reveals itself that quickly passes by. A grey sky and a screech that resounds through my entire being passes through and the scene changes once again. Now I am in a sea of skulls drenched in blood and at the top of my peripherals I see a deep red sky with clouds and lightning being emittited that were of a slightly lighter hue. The figure is once again on my chest and with every fiber of my being, I am certain I have reached hell. The entire time I am aware of my body laying peacefully in bed, however I can do nothing about my situation. I feel my soul slowly departing my body as I look upon hills scattered throughout the sea and on these hills is nothing but bloodshed and other figures punishing the damned. A feeling of pain and sorrow and utter despair flows through my body, and only one thought pierces through: That I am damned to an eternity of hell that I shall never escape. As the figure turns away, it appears startled and stomps on my body with more weight than an elephant. It whirls around and as it screams into my face, I find myself staring at my covers. I have somehow woken myself up, however "okay" is not a word I could use to describe myself. My voice is shaky, goosebumps are riddled throughout my body and I cannot bring myself to move for at least half an hour. I truly believe I saw something very real today, and I may spend the rest of my life trying to discern what all this means.
