Old crush, beach quest

Something important, secret, and magical. I was either trying to save people or I was indebted to a demon and had to get specific plants from the beach for it. I go to the beach, and this one is shallow for like a mile out. My old high school crush is there, whom I had slept with IRL years later. I find the plants and dig them up from the water and it seems helpful / beneficial that D is there and that I knew him.
