I can’t be sure if this was a dream about a Subnautica-esque game or a real situation. It seemed to be both. There was a sandy shore upon which a small base was built. A vast ocean area (which still seemed quite small sometimes) stretched out ahead, and giant corals could be found underwater. The base itself seemed to change with each scene, but part of it was on the water itself at all times. Sometimes a tiny island was present. Strange sea creatures were always a risk, and using futuristic-looking vehicles to get around was essential. Suddenly, there was a new creature in the water: a truly gigantic beast with a body like a moray eel, a head shaped like a stingray’s body, and human-like lips and mouth at the very front. I think it was eyeless. It was fast, aggressive, and would chase anyone without stopping, swimming around the waterborne portion of the base. We tried to install a fence to keep it out, which failed. Attempting to lower the nearby water level didn’t seem to work either - supposedly it hated shallow water, but it would continue to try and leap up to devour people. Then these monsters were everywhere, hiding in tubular corals so that there was no safe place to hide from even larger animals that were apparently present. Very suddenly the dream shifted to me watching Let’s Plays of the game(?) I’d just been a part of.
