I call my friend L, whom I haven’t seen since high school, to see if visiting her on a certain weekend works for her, and if she’d be interested in partaking in enjoying a custom created edibles kit (do they even make these?! It sounds so cool!) while I’m there. She is excited and agrees to all. I arrive parked on a steep hill in my Jeep, and have to walk up dozens of stairs to their door through the typical arid landscape of Southern California. I arrive and the house is packed with friends and family. At first I feel a little overwhelmed, especially because L isn’t around. Everyone is warm and friendly but doing their own this, so I sit on the couch. Finally L shows up and we talk about the night’s plans. Her friends and brothers start to gather around to talk about where we want to go out. While we are doing this, a game gets started with no explanation where you receive two shot glasses, one is a White Russian, one with milk of magnesia, and you try to take the White Russian shot. I get only one and it’s in a regular cup so I figure it’s a shot and take it. It turns out to be a toddler’s old milk cup that has food crumbs in it! I go into the kitchen to spit it out while everyone laughs and apologizes. While I’m in the kitchen I get a call that the edibles package arrives. L and I go outside to talk to the delivery guy. He shows us all the different treats and explains the potency. L asks if we can try a sample, and he gives us this spoon with a sugar substance on it and says we should be careful and split it in half. We take the package back inside to use for later. I go finish making a drink after eating my half of the spoon and as I come out of the kitchen I’m so high that I’m not seeing straight, but feeling wonderful. I sit down on the carpet and one of L’s many brothers ends up sitting behind me, legs on either side of me,but doesn’t say anything (like it’s not a big deal.) We decide to go to a bar about half a mile away but decide to drive since it’s uphill. We are driving up the hill in a packed car and have to slam on brakes because there is a broken down semi truck parked in the road with a road closed sign in front of it. We decide to pull the car off to the side of the road and walk the rest of the way. We finally get to the top of the hill and the view over the valley is incredible. The bar is totally outdoor and very small but somehow has a Victorian theme. I order an Elizabethan (their signature drink.) I must have blacked out in the dream because I wake up the next day at L’s and everyone is talking about how much fun the night before was. I feel like I missed out, lol!
