Fireplace too hot

I feel like I dreamed more than just this. I woke up with the some warm feelings (pardon the pun, you’ll get it later). I probably had a dream about a really nice relationship that doesn’t exist. The only thing I do remember is our woodstove getting really hot and I Got a little scared that it was getting too hot and it might burn the house down. We usually have a little disc thermometer thing that tells us generally how hot the stove is. The stove had been pushed up against the foreplace insert and the stove pipe looked entirely integrated. The thermometer is usually on the pipe but this time it was on the floor beneath not doing anything.
