I don't remember the circumstances, but I end up at a dance/event in a small town not far from home. I arrive alone, but there are many people there i know, and those who I don't know are in a friendly mood. my goal is to meet a boyfriend/fwb - I'm not sure now why that was so important, but it was at the time. I end up dancing with a boy who ignores the way everyone else is moving and sweeps me around the dancefloor like it's a ballroom. I am smitten. when the dance ends we go our separate ways - I don't remember why. I intend to find him again in a few minutes, but I never do in the growing crowd. I do my best to enjoy the rest of my evening, but spend it looking over my shoulder for him. the next morning, although I have a ride arranged, I stand and wait at the bus stop outside the venue, hoping that the locals will come here as well and I will find the dancing boy. it works in that half a dozen familiar faces soon appear. he is not with them, but I recognize a friend of his. somehow, myself and my cousin Steph (who I don't remember appearing before this) end up taking a ride with him in a horse drawn carriage. we go from main roads to a wooded residential road, admiring the mansions we pass. at one point we sneak into one, just to see the inside. Steph and I reminisce about the similarities to our grandparents'old house. (for the record, on waking, it was nothing like their old house.) we leave quicky so as not to get caught and continue our journey. we come next to an open air workshop in a clearing, where a muscular man shows us a "magic trick" - he arranges wood and fabric into a human shape sitting on his work bench, and when he places the final piece, it comes to life. the trick is very obviously accomplished by having a real person climb out from behind the bench while the man blocks our view, but their performance is enthusiastic so we smile and applaud before continuing on our way. this is as far as I remember.
