Dad killed snakes

My dogs were growling and we saw that there was a snake trying to get into the house. I went into the living room and watched it slither down the wall, cross the room and coil into the fire place. I was calling for my dad to bring a stick so we could spear it. But he didn’t come until it seemed too late (the snake was coiled up and we couldn’t see its head). But when he did come, he was carrying a dead snake that he had killed in the other room. Then he grabbed the snake in the living room with his bare hands and strangled it. He then found another one that he grabbed and killed. He then pointed out that they had some kind of serious fever that made them very hot to the touch. I touched one and nearly got burned.
