Singing show

I know a lot happened in my dream last night, but the only part I remember was this weird singing show, similar to American idol. Idk who the judges were, but this family (made up primarily of little kids) were singing a song. Two of the youngest kids were backup vocalists I guess, and there was a lead singer, also a kid I think. Or maybe they were just really short. I remember thinking the microphone looked very strange. It was made of plastic and the speaker part of the microphone was abnormally large. I thought “how is that producing sound?”
