There is a show and in the show, at the last moment, the woman in a couple who is performing a complicated dance falls ill. I am her stand in and I have to do the dance. I don’t really want to do it because I have problems with the steps of a turn, where my partner and I let go of each other and then have to get hold of each other again. Actually, I am quite angry that I have to do this but I go home to get a good night sleep. That is very important to me. The house is dark and there is somebody sleeping in my bed. Apparently my mother decided to have guests and gave them my room. This makes me angrier. I keep on going into other rooms in the house where there are other people sleeping and I keep on getting angrier. Finally I decide to sleep in the terrace. But before I go to sleep I have to read some instructions that were left for me in the shade of the lamp in my mother’s room. She will not let me go in there and we have a terrible argument. My dancing partner is waiting for me in the living room and he is appalled. I still have to go to sleep and lie down on a blanket in the terrace. Three strangers pass by looking for the professor and are surprise to see me sleeping on the terrace. I tell them the professor lives upstairs. All of the while I am very upset because I don’t know the steps of the turn for the dance and I am sure my partner and I will miss each other even though he tells me he will make sure to catch me. I will be wearing a beautiful black satin dress with a wide skirt that flares with the movements of the dance. In the end, my dancing partner and I manage to grab each other when we make the turn in the middle of the ballroom/stage. The flaring of the skirt manages to distract the audience from our mistakes.
