Puddle or pond?

Me and a few friends were walking around a part of my neighborhood and we came up to what looked like a flooded yard between two houses. I wasn't worried about getting dirty so I decided to start walking through the puddle. Two steps in I fell in over my head. The water was cold, very heavy, and so murky I couldn't see more than a few inches in front of me. It also had a strange green tint. To my left was a huge fish watching me. This made me really scared. When I tried to climb out my friends were sitting on the ground where I was struggling to get out. They were casually discussing how we couldn't cross here because it was a lake and the water was too heavy. I eventually pulled myself out and my heart was racing. None of my friends seemed to even notice that anything even happened to me. We continued walking through my neighborhood and I woke up.
