A dream? or not..

I'm not sure how to classify this... i dreamed that i woke up from my sleep. i felt like i was underwater, everything feels muted low. i felt something was wrong and so i turned to the semi closed bathroom door. something was not right so i tried to look beyond the door, stood up got near it and peeped through the crack and i saw a boy maybe a feet above my sight, it felt like he was on black and white tv. he was looking down. but my brain was rejecting what i was seeing like i was saying, no can't be. nu uh. so opened the door wide. nothing there. but i was clearly shaken, i sat down back to my bed and layed down on my side facing the door as soon as my head hit the pillow i jolted. not like waking up. maybe becoming aware. ... so that was the puzzle. was i awake? was i sleeping? did what i see was real?
