An Old Friend of Mine

It was a warm summer day and I was on my driveway while my parents were outside near the garage. I turned to the street and saw a girl who said hi to me. I had to triple look since I couldn’t recognize her. I said to her, “I don’t think I know who you are,” and she said, “you know who I am, how can you not know.” I looked at her once more and I realized it was my old friend, who I haven’t seen in years. She looked drastically different. Her hair was super curly, and she was wearing a khaki and white safari outfit with sneakers. I saw her parents talking amongst themselves as they walk to their car and leave. Her father acknowledged my parents but her mother didn’t give any of us the time of day. I then invited my old friend inside my house and I was asking her many questions. First I asked her how she’s doing and then I was getting more into detail asking if she graduated college and if she is still doing psychology. She told me that although she has a psychology degree she wound up becoming an elementary school teacher instead. I told her that the college she graduated from was my sister’s first choice school. My parents take my friend and I out with them and we both sat in the backseat. I was leaning against her shoulder the whole car ride. We were all headed to some restaurant, but before we got there I woke up.
