I went to my first real concert and it was Ministry. I wore a black Nirvana t-shirt with the "In Utero" anatomic angel on it. When I went up to the guy to give my ticket, he didn't believe I was old enough. I blurted out my birthdate as "1994, April 4th" and as soon as the words left my mouth I realized I just said Kurt Cobain's official day of death, and I panicked, but the guy didn't notice and believed me for some reason. I don't know why I didn't say my own date of birth (1995, April 17th). I was very amused that even at age 27 I was still being thought of as under 18 based on my appearance lol. Anyway, I went inside the venue, which was a standing concert. My place/area was a little off to the right of center. The arena literally looked like the concert/congregation hall from one of my old schools, except a little bigger. More people were coming in, all from the punk, metal and/or goth persuasion. It was the first time I was surrounded by so many like-minded people. I was really restless and paced around constantly with my arms crossing and uncrossing. The guy who had accepted my entry earlier was watching me and he asked me if I was okay. I realized he thought I might be on drugs, so I toned down my pacing. Soon the arena was full and the whole Ministry team were gathering. While they were preparing to set up, a projected video was played on the curtain over the stage. It was a Nirvana music video, but it was like nothing like I had ever seen. Kurt was driving in a car with the hood down. The song sounded like "Heart-Shaped Box" and I knew it, but it's not actually an existing Nirvana song. While I paced around I thought about a new t-shirt design that says "Courtney Did It" and it would have a pile of rohypnol pills and a shotgun under the caption. When the Ministry show finally kicked off, I was very confused as to where to go and what to do. I assumed that it was just like any concert where you stay in the audience and listen to the music and jump/dance/fool around, but apparently Ministry gigs were not like other gigs. While the band played, you could wander around the premises to go to their Torture Chamber, which was a room where you went in to get whipped, pushed around, beaten up and yelled at. And people enjoyed it. There was also an area for extreme jumping on the trampoline and some other fun game areas to explore. And while that was all fun, I couldn't help but feel how weird and wrong it was to see the actual arena show completely emptied out while people went to do other things while the band they supposedly came to see was playing. Even if they were being filmed and livestreamed across all available screens on the premises. I went back to the actual show to watch them. To my surprise a Madonna impersonator came in to perform a parody song about Madonna. There was a swimming pool all of a sudden, and I got to briefly feature in her video. It was clever and entertaining, but also a little sad, since I liked Madonna but felt bad about how poorly she has aged. I finished the show jumping around really high on one of the trampolines. Earlier in the dream I also dreamed that before Dave Grohl joined Nirvana and Mia Zapata joined The Gits, they were in a short-lived band with some other people.
