Stop Caring What Other People Think

I'm in my old college music room. I don't seem to be a teacher but I'm not a student either. One of the students is playing a piece of music on his guitar. It's a very heavy style of Norwegian heavy metal. He seems self conscious and stops regularly, checking the other students' reactions. After a few more stops and starts I eventually stop him and tell him I like his performance and he needs to stop caring about what other people think as it's holding him back.
