I had a really really good dream and I was able to see the storyline through to the end. So it was about this couple who’d been together a really long time. They lived in a a beautiful house in the middle of a heavily forested neighborhood with winding hilly roads and a gorgeous park and running trail at the base of the hills. The woman had an art degree she didn’t know what to do with. She worked at a paper company making luxury paper goods like beautiful drawing and craft paper and wall paper, but her role at the company didn’t have any creative freedom. The guy was an athlete recovering from an injury but the likelihood of him playing again was extremely low. The woman also had a chronic disease that caused flare ups of pain throughout her body. The couple had been on and off again from about two years since they broke up. They kept seeing other people then coming right back to each other and then breaking up again. Before they broke up they’d started blaming each other and getting angry because of their personal situations. There’s a series of scenes in which the guy’s mother and the woman’s dad are having heart to hearts trying to convince them to try a little harder with each other. The mother says “relationships aren’t things you can cast aside because the dishes didn’t get done or you didn’t get to go for a run that day. They’re about understanding each other.” The father tells the woman to “Give it one more go. You might be fighting, but you know each other better than anyone else. That’s worth something.” So they decide to move in together again. They try to get along at first but they keep clashing. The kitchen gets dirty with layers and layers of dirty dishes and groceries that hadn’t been put away yet. There was a funny scene in which the woman comes down for breakfast and leaves a huge mess and the guy just watches in irritation. The dirtier the kitchen gets the more they start fighting again. To escape the arguments the guy goes out for runs. The woman used to do track and field in high school but her disease made it difficult to continue. One day they have a really big fight and the woman accidentally insults the guy saying something like “are you ever actually going to play again?” His feelings get hurt and he decides to go out for a run. She decided to go out for a run with him. They were having fun and competing up and down the hills and a spark they hadn’t felt in a long time lit. But her disease flared up and her ribcage started to ache really bad. The guy stopped and waited for her, but the spark they’d felt before was disappearing and the woman felt it. She took a deep breath and said “just kidding!” Even though she really was in pain. She started jogging back to the house a little slower. The guy knew she was in pain anyways so he paced himself alongside her and instead of competing one in front of the other they ran together holding hands.
