In a Coma for Over a Year

I went to some other country and met this girl Cynthia who was trying to escape an abusive family and she was like 18. I tried to get her to go back to America with me I was gonna help her. She knew English but her family didn’t. Her mother kept calling my phone and leaving voicemails in another language. The girl was very distraught and was having a hard time standing by her decision to leave, she kept wanting to go back and change her mind. Also the thing is the driving in this country was not like in America, and I was terrible at it and kept smashing into other people’s cars and then not knowing what to do so I would drive away. My car was literally smashed up, and had other people’s cars literally stuck to the back of mine. Anyway I was driving to the airport with this girl and then got into some kind of accident because of my terrible driving skills and my smashed up/damaged car. I remember being in the hospital and then closing my eyes, it felt like taking a nap, and then I woke up and it was like 2 AM and my best friend Kat was there and also my grandma who died last November in real life. And they both started crying when I woke up, apparently I was in a coma for a while. I was asking the hospital staff for the girl Cynthia if she was okay and no one knew. I went home with Kat and I noticed all the snow was gone. I thought that was odd and I thought the coma was only a few days. I was worried about my online class and then Kat was like “how long do you think you were in that coma for?” and I’m like “a few days..?” and she said “...it was over a year.” And I fell to the floor sobbing because I missed law school. And then Kat told me in that whole time my dad only came to see me once. She also remembered that Cynthia survived and she was waiting for me in the hospital, and my dad sent her back to her family and we lost contact.
