I am visiting a park with my mother. The owners have carved out and paved areas in the woods for a cycle track, skateboarding, roller skates, etc. we’re doing something for my birthday. I go into a small shop while my mother stays outside. I talk to the owner about booking time, but it starts to rain. The rain comes and goes, and it gets late. I call my mother, and she just wants to go home. She’s late for something. I ask the shop to give me stir fry meat to take home for dinner. It will be infused with cannabis seeds. The woman who works at the counter isn’t sure if it was prepared correctly. She rubs a kebab on the meat and tastes it. She says that if there is no cannabis, I can bring it back. I meet my mother outside and we go home. The house has thick layers of dust and dead leaves I try to clean. Back at the park, I am helping a young man with a scruffy beard to set up an ice cream machine. It’s supposed to make ice cream balls. We’re tossing steel marbles into the back to figure out the right angle. It’s not working. I say this is a bad idea, since he won’t be using marbles. Is he using peanuts or candy? He says it’s a frozen cream center. I go into a back room and find a hole that exactly fits the machine. I slide it around until the slots on the housing match the holes in the structure. I use tiny screws to try to attach it. It’s clear that it’s much easier to use. The back is hidden, so we just need to pour the cores through a slot. The machine will freeze and rotate them. We pour the liquid ice cream through the same slot. When ready, we can dispense them through a slot in the bottom. There is also a unit for vending water, but it’s not hooked up. I invite the man and woman in to see what I’ve learned. I turn in the machine and it’s very loud. It keeps going for a while even when turned off.
