I had a mix between sleep paralysis and a false awakening last night, I think. I can't remember my dream very well, I believe I was with my friend Lilia at an art gallery and we had some school work on show there from when we were in high school. But we were trying to avoid someone so spent much of the time running around the different rooms. Then something weird happened, I can't quite remember but there was this dark room and a creepy doll in it? It wasn't scary, just unsettling. I also have a pretty bad cold at the moment, so I woke up not able to breathe very well. I was staring up at my bedroom ceiling thinking about the doll when something dark began to materialise above me. Unlike past sleep paralysis I've experienced it didn't actually "touch" me. Nor was it even close to being on my body. It was just dark matter materialising near my ceiling and floating around, a bit like a dementer or the fog monster from Lost. I 'realised' I must have paralysis so I tried to move and jerked my body so hard to the left that I fell off of my bed. I felt the thump of my floor and when I looked up the thing was still there, so in some childlike desperation I reached for Max (my old cuddly toy.) Then I had some weird logical break through and was like: "that's strange, I don't have Max at my parents house anymore?" And I actually woke up. I shot upright in my bed gasping for breath as if it had actually been a nightmare, whereas I had been fairly unspooled in reality. Thankfully I was still firmly planted in my bed too. Though I did switch my light on and try to put my finger through my hand a few times, just to make sure I was really awake.
