public transport confusion

I was on an old double-decker bus from the 70s although I was downstairs near the front. I was aware of being late for something or maybe having forgotten something, but could not remember what exactly. People got on and some other people switched seats. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to switch seats too but I liked where I was sitting so I stayed put. The bus went into a tunnel but then it was a ferry in a tunnel and I remembered I was supposed to be on a train to meet my uncle on the north coast. I didn't know how to indicate that I wanted to get off and started crying. The guy who handled the ferry ropes helped me fly (?) to the nearest wharf. It was supposed to be at Luna Park in Sydney but it was the other Luna Park in Melbourne and I was hella confused. I started walking up the hill (consistent with Sydney) and met some people who were looking for a bus stop or doctor's office. I was able to give them directions & they told me my uncle was waiting for me in a small shopping centre at the top of the hill. When I got to the top I saw it was definitely Sydney but when I turned around to look back down the hill it wasn't anything I recognised although something told me it was Brisbane. My uncle was cross that I forgot to take a train.
