Work announced that we would be going on a trip to the QLD for a few days next week for some event. I went home and my family was also planning a trip to the QLD at the same time. I told work I would meet them there but I was going with my family. As we arrived things looked different. I was with my dad, Julia and Gabriel. The city was a futuristic concrete jungle with an Asian influence. As we walked along a raised narrow walkway I pointed out a strange building (all the buildings seemed to be endorsed or owned by Nike) as it would pick people up at the entrance and lift them over the wall into their designated sleeping area which was a sock. The side of the building looked like massive sowing needles constantly moving inwards and out as it continued to get people and knit more socks. We continued into the main shopping centre which had many levels. The first level had electronics. This floor didn't have the futuristic vibe. More of a market feel with old Nintendo games selling for $1 such as crash bandicoot and spyro and assorted containers with random things which Gabriel was rummaging through. I picked up 2 of the $1 games and put them in my pocket. The second floor also had a market feel with art supplies scattered everywhere. Most of it looked used. Towards the back there seemed to be hand made pottery. Julia was looking at the art brushes as I got excited and started looking for pencils. The third floor was a modern clothes floor which reminded me of culture kings. We left through this glass walkway between buildings, it was only my dad and I at this point as I mentioned to him that I still had the games in my pocked and forgot to pay. He gave the sarcastic "Michaelllll" they were only $1 each so no worries although after looking inside there was no games. As we exited the building to the right there was a poster for one of the games I accidentally walked out with which was strange because the game was over 15 years old. We walked for sometime and came up to a grass hill with a bench that looked out over the city we just came from. For some reason I couldn't recognise the city we were in and tried to make sense of it as my dad corrected me. It was Brisbane to the left and the Gold Coast to the right merged together in an enormous city. To put it into perspective the tallest buildings you see now in the Gold Coast are now the smallest buildings here. They were much closer together as well almost connecting and overlapping with a musty fog scattered around.
