Dealing with disrespect

There was a schoolboy who was sat on a chair in an auditorium as I walked past him he said some cutting remark. I went up to him and grabbed his arm to march him down to the principals office to be disciplined however on the way I realised it would do no good so started talking to him about what was troubling him and we talked for a while I then decided to let him Go he was amazed.
