I met a girl... she was a tall dirty blonde with the sweetest smile and the most beautiful hazel eyes. I think I met her at the preschool I work at (I’ve never met this girl IRL) she invited me to her house to hangout after I made her laugh a few times. She showed me around her huge house and we ended up in her room. As I browsed her cute belongings and pictures she started changing clothes. I turned to give her privacy but there was a mirror so I saw anyways. She was gorgeous and I think she wanted me to notice lol. We went down to the finished basement to watch a movie and her whole family came home and started walking down the stairs. I shook hands with her parents and grandparents. They were having some kind of dinner party or cookout. She had totally forgotten about it and I had no idea lol. A bunch of her friends showed up and we were laughing and joking but I felt a little out of the loop. There was a guy there named David S that I remembered from high school. I think they had dated at some point because he seemed really defensive of her. He would make snide jokes about how great their sex was and stuff in front of me just to piss me off but I ignored it because she invited me here and not him. One her friends was doing a couple of homework assignments and needed help so I assisted her with her chemistry and math. It was nice being able to connect with one of her friends so I think I won her approval. I heard David going on about some story so I decided to step out for a drink. I joined the grandfather at the kitchen table for some wine. He was already drunk so the father was trying to help him stay in his chair and take his drink but he didn’t like that lol. I had a few drinks and chatted with the family. I think they liked me but didn’t really know me. Eventually the girl came and found me. She was having a good time but getting a little annoyed with everyone else there. No one would notice though because her gentle smile. We walked out onto the patio by the pool and fire pit to talk for a while under the stars. As people started leaving we snuggled up on the patio couch under a blanket. With her head on my shoulder she looks up at me and gives me a little kiss. All I felt was happiness. I was lucky to be here at this time with her. It almost felt undeserved but also like life was becoming whole again. I think I loved her. We fell asleep watching the fire and thats when I woke up.
