it’s just business

The county was suddenly taken over by by Titans. They were giant, strange looking creatures. None of them looked quite like the other. Some were Cyclopes, some had no bones, and some were blue. But they were all kinda human in a terrifying way. At first they seemed harmless, but soon reports of them abducting and eating people started to surface. One day, when I was going into work, a Titan turned up outside our building. I hid behind a tree where it couldn’t see me. There weren’t any cars in the lot, so I called my manager to ask where everyone was. He said that no one was coming in until the Titans went away. Apparently he didn’t tell me because he thought I would make a good offering for them. He said that while I was there I should try and convince them to leave. I’m not sure why but I listened to him. When he hung up, I shakily walked over to where the Titans were sitting casually. At first it looked like the one on the right was going to just grab me right away, but I think he was curious about me approaching them, so he lowered his arm. The one on the left raised his eyebrow inquisitively and asked very loudly what the hell I was doing. I said that I had a deal for them. If they promised not to eat me, I would help them get more people to eat. I said I would make things very easy for them by luring people to my work. They seemed amused by the idea of accepting help from a puny human, but nevertheless they accepted—maybe out of sheer boredom. I started out with luring my manager and coworkers to their deaths. I think it was revenge for trying to set me up. Then I became a serial killer of sorts, leading victims to the giants in exchange for my life. Disturbing stuff, but I take a bit of comfort in knowing that the manager and coworkers spoken of are not my real-life associates, just dream characters. My real manager is actually very nice lol
