Crisis Car-Trip

My parents and I were driving somewhere, in our old honda civic. We were packed as if we were going on a long road trip. It was night. I didn't know why, but I felt that we were in danger somehow. I had my phone out, and I was trying to check the news, but it was out of battery. I asked my mom for her cellphone, but when I got to a news app, everything was in Chinese. I switched the language back to english again, but couldn't find anything of significance in the feed.  We stopped at a gas station about a half hour later. When we went inside the shop, the line to the cash register stretched around the inside of the whole entire building. People were paying cash for their gas. After we finally paid for something, we walked slowly back to our car. Strangely, the gas station had a parking lot, which was jam-packed with cars. Near our car, there was a little shelf with plastic bags of tiny cherry tomatoes, and lettuce. My mom grabbed one and put it inside the car. I asked whether she should pay for that, but she said, "In these times, paying doesn't matter." I wanted to run back inside the store to leave some cash but she didn't let me.  We drove away from the gas station slowly ***I wake up***
