I recently bought Skyrim on sale as a Black Friday deal because I’ve always wanted to try it but didn’t really have a decent computer for it until recently. And thus my dream was set in a castle in Skyrim somewhere. It was a pretty short dream and I don’t remember all the details. I was on a quest to find this sentient, talking stone statue that guarded the inside of a castle. I found the castle and the statue but it was completely still and silent, as one would expect. The stone statue was of a man holding a spear in his right hand. He was six feet tall and wearing a suit of knight’s armor except his face was completely uncovered. I don’t remember if he was wearing a hood or just had long hair. His face looked chiseled (no pun intended), similar to the Giga Chad face. He was supposed to represent some fallen warrior or a guardian of some kind hence why he was placed inside the castle to the right of the huge wooden door. But, as it turned out, he was actually kind of a minor angel of wisdom or some observer in actual practice. He had no name. I tried talking to this stone statue but it was of course silent and motionless. Something told me to come back later and so I did. I somehow found myself at a huge dining table in the great hall of the castle sitting to the left of a random woman with short curly red hair. And across from her was the stone statue from before sitting down and having a full conversation with her, although the woman did almost all the talking. She was asking him questions that I don’t fully remember. All I vaguely remember was that she was looking for someone close to her like her father or a brother. And the statue told her where she should go to at least start to look and pointed her in the right direction and told her who to meet with and ask about her question once she arrived at the destination. I think the idea was that because this statue was posted at the castle entrance and it had some magic about it, it overheard the inquiries and conversations and worries and requests of countless thousands over the years, maybe centuries, that it had been at that castle. Sort of like an A.I. that remembered everything it ever heard and saw and thus could guide people who really needed information. So after the dinner I left the castle for a bit and came back and the statue was once again inside the castle on the right side of the door when facing it. And again as still and silent as before. So I approached it and asked it a question (which I don’t now remember) and the statue said to me simply that it didn’t know me as myself and then fell instantly silent. But I could see the wisdom in its eyes and I could tell that it did indeed see me at the dinner table earlier or was at least aware of my presence. I just looked into the statue’s eyes for a bit and then I woke up.
