Her Golden Curly Hair Replaced The Sunshine of a Dying World

A lot of people were committing suicide in town. This guy climbed the top of a stadium and jumped while a helicopter was trying to rescue him. The weird part is that I had his point of view as if it were me, but once he hit the ground and his body got smashed from the impact, I had my point of view back. I walked around the scene of his death alongside my girlfriend, Rafaela. It was a grass field, and when I looked up, it seemed so high that it gave us a headache. Later on, we were walking without a destination, and I noticed that more people were standing on the edge of high places. They were wearing a brown robe with a hood. I knew exactly what was going to happen, and so it did. A suicide in mass, dozens of people jumping to the cold embrace of death from different places, and they all had this peculiar brown robe. My girlfriend, as always, was desperate. She couldn't understand anything. Me, on the other hand, I knew what was happening, I knew things had changed and somehow, for the better. That was my feeling with all that. We then moved to this building that felt like both my uncle's home and the company I used to work. And yes, it had both of its people in it. I could see people I used to work with, some girls I fell in love once, and my uncle's family felt like the hosts. It all seemed like a party because everyone was just chilling to their music, drinking and talking about what happened. It was nighttime, but daylight would reach us soon. I took a cold vodka bottle and sat right on the edge of the terrace. With all that's been going on and my depressive personality, you can imagine the look on people's faces. At that moment, I realized that's everything I ever wanted in my whole life. The world is ending while I'm in a tall building with so many rooms, familiar faces all around, and alcohol. Rafaela wasn't by my side at that point, thank God. My bottle was almost finished, and I was getting happily drunk, so I decided to go downstairs and find more booze. On the last floor my uncle and my aunt found me. They were definitely the hosts, the way they told me to feel free to ask for anything. I knew that they were treating me kindly because I helped them buy their house, but that seemed like a distant life to me in that moment. Downstairs, I encountered that girl I used to like. Blonde curly hair, white skin with a few beauty marks, round glasses, a perfect body, and a smile that could put an end to whatever was happening out there. That girl is Elaine, and my interest in her felt like something ancient. It felt like it was a lifetime ago, a different and distant life where everything was impossible. But in this one, there's no such thing. So I smiled at her, and out of a sudden we were walking together around that building, slash, company. I saw people working around, some others having fun, I know It makes no sense, but at that moment, it all did. I finally told her what I wanted, as if she didn't know already. And to my surprise, she wanted it too. Her colleagues showed up to take her attention and have a talk, so I took a short walk while waiting for her. I was thinking that it felt so right but so wrong, weird. Having a girlfriend and telling another girl that I wanted her badly. So Rafaela showed up. She looked exactly like the day I first saw her. She went to this sort of receptionist balcony, and I went near her and sat on a wooden bench. She almost didn't look at me, as if she despises me. That was a key factor for me to move on with Elaine. Elaine finally got rid of her talkative colleagues and came to me. She sat between me and this other girl who was also a friend of hers. She was going to tell something about my affection for her, that's for sure, but I had to be honest with her and tried to whisper that she had to be discreet. And it worked. Instead of giving a stranger all the details, she just gave me her number on a small piece of paper. I took it and put it inside my pocket. So I had to prepare. My wishes were coming true, and I could not disappoint. I found a bathroom on this floor of the building with occupied dormitories. I began to brush my teeth desperately until I felt something thick and disgusting coming from the water. My mouth was full of it. It felt like a curse from my girlfriend, as if she knew about it all. And I could feel she was nearby. So I went to another bathroom to use a mouthwash I saw, but it didn't work well. My former namesake colleague, Daniel, is a pain in the ass and he just woke up in one of those bedrooms. He definitely would ruin everything with his curiosity. I also felt that Rafaela was almost reaching me. It was all ruined, I knew I wasn't going to commit that sin I so much wanted to.
