My mother is trapped in the land of the dead, and I’m trying to get to her. In a trance, I write text in the shape of an egg on news paper. It starts large and gets smaller. I’m using a brush and ink. It’s some kind of arcane spell. I rip out the page, tearing one corner, fold it up and put it in the pocket of my shorts. I talk with my father, who is in the back yard with one of his cats in a leash. I fly over, then walk when I see a neighbor looking out her window at me. My father starts hunting through all his books for the spell I need. I collect ashes from under a tree root. I go into the ocean to swim, taking the ashes and newspaper sheet. The ocean is calm and cold, but I don’t feel it. I commune with seven of the eight gods. I don’t see them, but I interact with their assistants. The black tower of the god if death is frightening, so I avoid it. I can’t find the god of travel, which is the one I need.
