Exam gone wrong

I am preparing to run our final exam. I have one helper. The classroom I’ve been assigned is already being used by another course. I can’t find my students or my helper. I start to panic, searching everywhere. The school is now a grocery store. There is a cat on a leash walked by an old man. I try to find the chief invigilator. They just laugh, but when they see my panic they send someone to help. We take the stairs (carved from stone) to the second floor. I lose my guide as soon as I turn a corner. I call out, but no one has seen him. I wander the second floor, asking everyone if they’re my students. There is a white room full of white light. Everyone is motionless and quiet. An older woman is talking quietly about Idris Elba. I get out. I’m in a bookstore or library. I am being slowly attacked by zombies. I find a weapon that is like a hand claw and a flail. I try to put it on but the strap is awkward and I get it sideways. I keep going. Sometimes I crawl over the shelves. I’m still asking everyone if they’re my student. I find a wall panel giving credit to actors. I scratch it with my claw. I’m told to pull pipes lose from the ceiling. Somehow the building is a body. I pull loose and bend every pipe I can find. Nothing happens. Someone tells me to drink what comes out. It’s blood and other liquids. They do and vanish. I take some (water) and wake up with a jolt. I am still in the library but now the actors are lucid. We start walking in the same direction. I see James Woods walking parallel to us. He appears and disappears behind a mirror. I eat a slice of one of his blueberry pies, and he transforms into a cartoon toy. It’s a villain from a Disney cartoon. I say it’s name and it pops like a balloon, but is replaced by another. I don’t know the name, but someone else does. This happens many times. Eventually it’s a villain from Hunchback of Norte Dame, and no one knows his name. I wake up for real. This is an incomplete memory. There was also a bit about driving down a very steep hill, visiting a space launch centre by the harbour, make by a dragonfly or moth from copper wire, reading a sci-fi novel that just ends setting up a sequel, an outdoor sculpture, crying on the ground, people living in a stairwell, etc. It was a busy dream, and I am soaked in sweat.
