Planetary adventures

My friends and I somehow come back to a planet we have been to before, with only one life form on it. Last time, he told us he would kill us if we came back. We somehow manage to befriend him, and live with him. But, we learn that he actually has been to earth before, and has a son. His son is a dog, and the dog kind of hates us. Thats it.
