Hunger Games

Cassie and I are in some type of hunger games style survival game. We have completed many tasks but then the game makers tell us that they have our siblings. They tell us we must complete this next tasks or they will kill our brothers and sisters. We say we will do anything. They bring Nate out. He smiles at me so sweetly, and I smile back, but I know something awful is about to happen to him. They tell us that we must kill Nate in order to save our siblings. Cassie immediately says she can’t do it, and starts to cry. I look at Nate and he looks at me sadly. He says, “ Vanessa, please, just do it,” I tell him no I can’t. And again he begs me to do it to save more lives. The game makers instruct me that I have to kill Nate by strangling him. I began sobbing. Nate is my best friend. I don’t know if I can. Nate lays down and brings me on top of him. He places my hands at his throat. I’m crying, and hurting. My heart is aching. He assures me it’s okay, and that he won’t fight. I strangle him. I watch the life leave his eyes. My brain switches off.
