Part of a system?

I thought I was living a normal life, but really it was a lie. It was exam day; I was getting ready to leave for the day, but noticed something odd. Everyday, I've always wondered why the students always act and looked the same, but once I realized that I was part of a system, I was considered "broken". Apparently, I wasn't the only one. While everyone left, me and this boy were led by our "teacher" to a laboratory and for some reason, I knew that doctor. Was I considered "broken" before? I even knew I was being "shut down" and knew what to tell the boy. I woke up before I had a chance to see what happened.
