I was running but I could not hide. This monster had got the others already, it was just me and her. We ran through doors not knowing where they lead, over travines me helping her over using what remnants of strength I had left... Our luck had to run out sometime. It was inevitable, no matter how much we tried. The final door we pushed through led straight into it's lair. laid out across the entire space, effectively quilting the floor were the remains of those gone before us. They were just the skins but they'd been removed with such expertise as to preserve the entire scalp, face and hair. Duly they were laid out like pelts of wild animals slain in a recreational hunting expedition. We slid our backs down the wall that had been propping us up, brought our knees to our chests, bowed our heads and shut our eyes. Blackness.
