Inca Birth (lucid)

This is an extraordinary dream I had during a nap. It is lucid in an odd way. I know I was awake in the dream and observing the experience but I was not a physical presence just a consciousness. There are four characters in the dream: 1. A female giving birth who is called “princess” by the other characters, 2. A woman, older but not too old, assisting in the birth, 3. A man who is addressed as “prince” and does most of the talking, 4. A beautiful newborn baby. All are Inca. I know this. When the dream starts, the princess is in a room in a large stone building In the process of giving birth. It is not going well. The older woman tells the prince that the baby is stuck and that the princess has no more strength to push and is dying because the labor has gone on too long. The prince asks the woman to let him help but she does not want to...he has to push her aside to get between his wife’s legs. The top of the baby’s skull can be seen (this is call crowning”). The Prince starts cooing to the baby, “come out my princess, it is time for you to give birth to your perfect self”....the baby slides out into her father’s hands. She is the color of light honey and has black hair and black eyes which are wide open and oddly aware and intelligent. The prince takes her to his wife who looks very pale and weak. The baby looks like her. She takes the baby in her arms and the prince picks both of them up and carries them outside to a beautiful garden. He sits with the princess in his arms (the princess is holding the baby) in a bench carved in the stone wall. There are plants and flowers all around and the desert lies ahead. The sand is multicolored. In the distance there are 2 huge mountains, they have names, one is “Lord” and the other one “Lady”. The soft morning sun is shining on the princess and her baby. While the dying princess feeds the baby from her breast the prince talks to them softly and with a lot of tenderness even though what he is saying is...horrible. “Princess, you can die now, you have given birth to your perfect self. One day los orejones (the men with the big ears) will come and will take your perfect self to the mountains so that there can be peace among our people and you will live forever. You will live with the Lord and his Lady and will be a God like them and we will pray to you. This is the price we pay so that the blood of our people does not have to feed the sands” The princess feels herself dying (I feel it) and she does not mind but she is crying because she does not want the baby to be given to the orejones and the mountain....the Prince keeps on telling her “ you have given birth to your self but perfect, it is you princess, this is not your child. It is you, La Niña del Trueno” (La Nina del Rayo is the almost perfectly preserved mummy of a girl of 6 or so found in the Andean mountains—- There is a difference in their names but I believe this is the reference for the dream...one is the girl of the lightening and the one in my dream is the girl of the thunder). I can truly say that this is the most extraordinary dream, lucid or not, that I ever had.
