I was sitting in my flat, a new place in a new locality, I live alone. Then I found Amit, my cousin in the flat. He was still the head of my rival company. And we were chatting. He told me about some deals he did and gathered his co is now much bigger than mine. I was trying to poach one of his co guys and he seemed to know that. He also told about another market competitor who is a front of Adani. I recalled a conversation with an Adani guy, R Singh who said they were moving some business from us to that front co and I was wondering why Adani would do that. Now it made sense. Amit seemed to know everything. Then it was time for Amit to leave. I saw Moudidi, his sister standing afar, outside my flat and smiling at me. Then I found Boropishi, Amit"s mother too. She was all excited to see me. I wanted to ask isnt Boropishi supposed to be long dead because she died immediately after my dad, a decade ago. But I didnt ask, chatted with her and we all walked towards Amits car. Then Boropisho (Amit's father) waved at me. He was a feared man from childhood. Tall and well built and a terror to naughty children. My father used him to scold me. Used to dread going to their house. Amit has a brand new Merc, a red sports car. Somehow everyone managed to fit in. There was a baby too in the whole mix. Cant be Amits - he is too old to be a new father. Then on the way out of the parking space he stopped, rolled the window and asked me how to get to the main road. I fumbled. I told him something, he sensed I wasnt sure and asked other people, and went.
