the pet store

i was standing in the back isles of a pet store where they keep the fish and reptiles. as i was looking into the fish tanks at the brightly coloured creatures i noticed one looked out of place from across the room. as i moved closer i realized the fish was not in the tank, instead it was floating in the air. it moved through the air as if it was in water. it looked sickly and slow. i decided to tell the guy at the counter about what i saw. his reply was “that fish is sick we have to let him suffocate. sometimes it’s sad because i know they feel, once i heard a fish gasp for its last breath.”
