sentient phone cord

My head on the pillow, staring into the darkness. A tangled of black phone cords is floating gently in front of me. I wonder what it is, then realize that I am dreaming. I feel scared, so wake up. But the cords don't disappear. I watch them until they float up. and start to come towards me. I think that I must be still dreaming. But I am awake my eyes are open. I recoil in horror, it keeps coming towards me. Emitting a ultraviolet black glow. I wave my arms in the air to bat it away and there is nothing there. Luckily I wasn't screaming this time, but it did take a while to go back to sleep. I think I am learning to better handle these dream hallucinations that continue into waking.
