Life after the Zombie Apocalypse

Ok so this was an incredibly long dream and I only remember certain parts of it. I know I’m missing lots and that’s why the story jumps around. For a dream this one actually flowed and had a time line that made sense for the story, so sorry for the jumping around, just remember it all connects and flows somehow. I was a in a mountainous European town. The views reminded me of Telluride, CO, as did the mountains. However the architecture was very European. Mostly Germanic/Bavarian, yet strangely there was traces of Japanese architecture as well. The zombie apocalypse had started but no one here had had to deal with any zombies yet just due to the remoteness of the town. I’m young in the story timeline right now. One night, all of the townspeople gather in a meeting hall to discuss something when a man barges in saying something like “my friend got killed by zombies so I’m gonna kill all of you”. He had locked the doors, could fly, and had super strength, it was bad. I hid in a corner close to a wall hoping someone somewhere would break a window or something but the man kept pushing down parts of the walls onto people. At one point I get semi crushed beneath a piece of destroyed wall play dead. Zombies start breaking into the building as well. It’s horrible, there were many young kids here and young people. Many are screaming and dying, it’s horrific. I can’t focus on others though when there’s no guarantee that I’ll make it out so I focus on saving myself. I sit up and try to squeeze through a destroyed part of the wall, hoping the evil man doesn’t see me. A zombie then starts to enter where I’m trying to leave, I grab a piece of concrete wall rubble and smash it’s head in before I’m bit, way to close of a call. I manage to get out of the building and it’s night. I don’t know where to go but I run away from the building, swiping zombies with my shoulders or pushing them towards the building to save myself. Many died that night unfortunately. The dream jumps around a lot here in my memory. Mostly it’s just trying to survive for a long period of time in the town and surrounding mountains. It’s full on zombie apocalypse at this point. I remember feeling sense of dread, despair, hunger, and hopelessness as I scavenged for years to stay alive. Years down the road I get wrapped up into a new world government. The government is split into two divisions, liberal and conservative. The liberal part leads many organizations such as military, finding and saving people, etc. I’m not sure what the conservative part did. I’m now a congressman or something for the liberal part. They saved me along the way and now I work for them. Some liberal Congress person takes the stand against the corrupt president citing an incident when they were a kid. The incident is as follows: Not long after the downfall of society the Congress person was a young teen. They heard a rumor about a gold mine nearby to their town in the Southwest deserts that had copious amounts of food storage and money. The person sneaks out there at night and finds it, but another kid found it first. They start sharing the food and split the money (I guess money still had value after society fell). All of a sudden the government rolls up and the now president is then the leader of the department that shows up. They take the two kids out of the mine into the desert night. They have lit up the whole mine grounds with insane flood lights. The shoot the other kid in the head as he begs on his knees and they let the now congressmen live. The congressional delegation is furious by this. Obviously no one likes the president, then the president says she is going to remove herself from having say in the outcome decision of this investigation against her, a supervising move because everything is so corrupt she could just be ruthless and keep her spot. I’m surprised at her decision. But yeah, that’s about it.
