Again, out of town. On a school trip? I think with both Laurel tree and Dandelion. Jane was running a good portion and I was assisting, possibly hired. K was enjoying himself like he would w his own class. It's lovely here. I am show around individually because I am going to be helping facilitate. There are a few streets, mostly this town is covered in trees. We are by a creekbed. I notice painted wooden displays around which each have a depiction of what looks like a shamanistic mythological bird. I am now in the large old building, our group is organizing itself while I patrol. There are dogs arriving as well. Mostly Rottweilers, Black shepherds, and other well trained dogs which could kill us. I make friends with them and take them // send them to the downstairs area where they will enjoy playing. It is a perfectly warm amber-tinged California summer day. The scent of drying pine needles. I am given a rifle. Apparently this unfazed me. There is another who is assisting me in this job (whatever it is exactly?) and I'm pretty sure they were someone I know as well but I can't remember. On the roof, I can see the sky beautifully. It is clear, almost time for things to begin, and I see the first guide bird in the air. It is so large, yellow, with incredible plumes that were thin all the way to the end, extending in the air like beautiful arrows. The bird swooped and circled and then disappeared. I am continuing to do my job / duty of standing and watching and telling the few people who arrive (w there dogs?) to go. There is a large black bird (these birds are larger than any bird, larger I think even than golden eagles, and had an air of total magic about them, with incredible detail and supreme beauty to them. I was mesmerized watching them.) which looks thinner than a corvid, and tinged slightly with red. Next is a bird I remember clearly also from the painted plywood on the corner by our building. Brown and white, human almost, in the painting he stood on two feet (fully covered by a brown cloak), with a bird head and a round drum in his claw. A shaman. White diamond plumes extending on wore like feathers for feet beyond his head. I catch on a bit more that these are this place'sGods/ Genus locii come to life. I am super excited to show K once this is done. Also we can swim in the glistening creek. It ends w Jane calling my name and the name of the other. I hear K laughing with her as I enter; class needs to start, they are waiting on us! I run in. K has saved me a seat between him and Jane. Jane clasps my hand and I tell her that I was protecting someone from some dogs. She understands and smiles. I nudge K. And then I woke...
