My American Friend Surprises Me

I was sat in the conservatory looking at my phone, when suddenly two people came through the back door. I was gobsmacked when I noticed one of them was my friend from America, and the other woman I assumed was a friend of hers. My friend took a seat between myself and my Mum. We talked for a bit, then my Mum referred to some challenge she set me for my friend but was disappointed with the location I picked in our town. My friend said we would talk about whatever this challenge was more.
