The black cat

Considering I rarely have dreams nowadays I ended up having a very Dark one last night... I was wandering around my house when I decided to randomly grab a knife, I wasn’t sure why or when but I ended up chasing down my cat. He hid at one point, all the lights off so his black fur blended in, almost perfectly with the darkness of the room so he looked shadow like. When I grabbed him, I stabbed him in the side then stabbed the knife into his neck leaving it there, watching as he squirmed and ran around the house with it in, laughing. I noticed I had gotten upset and chased him down again, this time taking the knife out after he fell so a wound like a puffed up flesh spot with a red ‘X’ was showing where the knife once was. I think I apologized profusely before finally waking up and looking around in bewilderment. What does a dream like that mean? I don’t like my cat but I’d never physically hurt him... Does anyone have a clue on what it could be minus trauma? The only Trauma I’ve had was from a dog attack and I still love dogs.
