Spider in the Laundry Room

Brother D, his wife and I carry scuba gear into the basement. They have just come back in their jeep. In the laundry room, there are dirty clothes scattered all over the floor. I gather up a load of whites and start the washing machine. I am shredding old papers, everything I can find. The shredder jams and I turn it off for safety, then pull the jammed pieces out and dump the bin on a garbage bag. I have filled two bags. Hanging from the wall near a window, I see a giant dock spider, the size of a Loony. That will terrify the kids! Can't even let them know it was here! As I step closer to kill it, it splits in two and darts away, flying, and I realize with relief, it's two giant bumble bees. I shut the laundry room door to keep them inside until I can figure out how to save them. D is still inside, hanging up his gear, but he follows me out and carefully closes the door. The kids, cousins, are laughing at us in the rec room. They already knew about the bees.
