Theme of this dream: An interactive horror film/novel concept, in which the viewer is transported into the story with varying perspectives. // A man stopped in front of a house. He hurriedly dropped off a rusty red tricycle in front of the doorstep and got away quickly. The view panned to a wooden sign in the distance that read “Lynd family farm”. A man opens the door, discovering the tricycle, looking down the drive and noticing no one is there. Confusedly, he carries it inside. He drops it and it breaks apart. He sees his jacket move and feels unnerved, so he heads out the back door to his yard to get some air. It’s quiet and foggy. Tall pines surround a huge, gated backyard of grass long overgrown. The perspective switches to me and I can see the man standing there. I look around the unfamiliar yard and come across a hill. Looking over, I see something orange peaking out of the ground. I stumble over rocks and indents in the torn ground, making my way towards it. Noticing a biohazard label, I curiously open the lid. Inside is mostly dried dirt, laced with the awfully heavy scent of death. There’s human remains in there. I run. A dog barks maniacally on the other side of the old wooden gate, covered in tarnished red paint. I look over and realize he must recognize the putrid scent that now surrounds me, coming to a dreadful theory that this could be the scent of his previous owner. I run along the side of the house through overgrown bushes and out of the yard, into the neighborhood street. The “movie” is over. I look around. My mom is beside me. We’re walking along a sunlit path. We start talking about the experience and how cool the interactive aspect of it was.
