End of the world?

I was in the camp like thing, at my school. Everything looked empty, underpopulated, grey, and heavily littered. We had to do these tests, and one of them was to get to the bottom of a hill which was covered in rusty abandoned cars and other trash. I took my phone out of my pocket and everyone backed away. I asked why and they said the radiation was so high in that area that energy from a phone could deform us as we stood there.
