Dream: Hotel Errors

((This links back to the dream Engaged With A Dragon back on February 10th)) So I was on vacation with my family (mom, grandma, bro, uncle, aunt, and the youngest two sibs) and we were at some high end hotel. So like, I think I was probably about 20 in the dream. old enough to be able to wander off without parental permissions and all that plus I had a copy of the hotel key. So anyway, all this time I'd held onto the book on dragons and fae that I'd gotten from Ahtevra. I had it in a messenger bag I kept on me as I walked around the hotel. I wasn't much of a swimmer so I did my own wandering while the family was at the pool. But anyways, I'm walking around the hotel grounds, and this place is like an old style hotel. Think like a fancy style, almost Victorian look but obviously upgraded interior. It also wasn't smack in the middle of a big city but rather on the edge of a small city with a nice kind of forest setting on the other side. Really cool setup. I went into the city, walking around with my messenger bag on, heading off to find a book store or cafe out in the city. I end up bumping into an ex (ewww) and he and I have a heated argument before the spirit attached to my book more or less trips him and scares the piss outta him and I silently thank the spirit and we leave. I found a nice little bookstore with a cafe across the street. So on goes the browsing. Partially for a new book, partially to see if there are any other spirits hidden away in here. So I wander through the aisles and eventually find a book on dark fae (no spirit attached), a book on vampires (no spirit attached), and a book on the differences between lycanthropy and shifters (spirit attached to it), and buy all three books. The spirit attached to the shifter book seemed super shy. The one attached to my dragon book began chatting with it to kind of coax it and let it know I'd take care of it. We made our way to the cafe across the street when my uncle appeared. He seemed a little upset and stated I should have told the group where I'd gone, which I in turn stated I had sent several messages to let them know where I was and that he wasn't gonna stop me from trying out the cafe. so he joined me at the cafe, grabbed a snack and drink, then left. I grabbed myself a snack and drink and sat down at one of the tables. Kind of do a fast forward thing and I've got my bag on my as I'm walking around inside the hotel. Going up what seems to be an infinite number of floors (by taking the stairs) as I follow the commentary of the two spirits attached to my books. Prior I'd had an argument with mom about not keeping in touch (though I had) and how I could just get my own room then (which I did) and I was now trying to find my way to it. The spirits both seemed more at home in this hotel than I was. Thankfully I'd already given my stuff to the staff member to get it to my new room. I eventually found my way there, saw my stuff in there, and flopped back on the bed. The two spirits had grown kinda quiet but not eerily so. I curled up and started dreaming of the knick-knack shop I'd first encountered the first spirit at. Though that's all from the shop that my mind was allowing me to remember. As the night ran on I woke up and grabbed the book bag as I walked through the halls which now seemed very different. The spirits both noticed this too. We walked and walked, running into people who hadn't been there before, some people not entirely human, and kept going as we tried to figure out what had happened when I slept. There were chills going down my spine. I finally walked through one of the other open doors and met a guy named Warren. He was tall, dark skinned, had a slight British accent, and was with his wife and a couple kids. they had noticed the strange change to the hotel floor too and we talked it out. They invited me to stay for food and the spirits didn't seem bothered so I went ahead with that. I awoke after that.
