Magical items

I was living in this building where it was kind of like Harry Potter, in the sense that you had to use some of your power or present a magical item to enter certain areas. I’d left for the day and was at this weird sort of school or something and I was annoyed with some other people and I like got into a fight with one. Later I left with some of my friends and we ended up picking up this girl who needed help along the way home. I went into the hotel I was living in and noticed the elevator was gone. I asked the man behind the counter how fo get up to the 4th floor, to which he responded that there was only 2. I knew that wasn’t right, so I did some exploring and we found a special door that led to a basement.
