Stupid kids

I cant pin down a time, but kids couldnt read and neither could adults and I got made fun of for reading. I was interrogated for having a complicated book and not just a magazine or news paper. It was like an old interrogation room from the movies with the 1 swinging light fixture and the 2 way mirror on one wall. They kept tearing into me about being able to read. Where did you learn that? Who taught you to be able to think like that? Where did that book come from? All I told them was, I was born before the war and they got the most horrified look on their faces, like I was the most dangerous person alive.
