War on either side

I was at a river holding hand with someone the was getting punishment. Someone in the water would say what had happened and then 'Aunty *someone*' would come with her butchers knife and do whatever damage needed to be done. I'm not sure what the crime was but it ended with a limb being chopped off. I was rubbing their back and trying to keep them calm. We all left and went to this really tall shopping mall. We kept going up levels trying to find a certain store. We went into a stairwell and heard gunshots start firing behind us. We all went to run back to help but without weapons it was too dangerous for us to be down there. We ran up to the next level but there were gunshots coming from there as well. We found a door that lead put to a carpark that was safe and saw lots of people running in and out of a stairwell. We reached the stairwell just as the gunshots stopped. I saw a friend and asked them what happened. He said they had won against the enemy.
