Wierd French food

I was in France woth 2 friends. I wanted to try something new so i was looking at some pastry things. One thing looked like Apple pie type of thing that's was little bite sized. I went ot pay for it, my friend grabbed it amd said no amd went to put ot back. That'd when we noticed there were live bugs crawling on it. When I went to pit it back on the tray, I saw a snake tail moving. There was a live snake on the tray and it looked like a poison kind. I thanked my friend for saving me from something nasty.
