The Iranian Protestor

I was in Turkey, I think, or some other neighboring country to the north of Iran where I was sitting in an open public area. I watched as an Iranian man was protesting by himself regarding the poor conditions in his country. He was pacing around in a circle with a big white sign with back letters. I was unable to read the sign. It was his intention to let people outside his country become aware so perhaps other countries would intervene. Iran was suffering from economic collapse and abuse at the hands of a totalitarian government. I began to feel very sad that this man was making the possibly fruitless effort to travel across the border each day to spread this message. I was sad about the condition of his country that must be so bad to compel him to do what he was doing. I was saddened also by the fact he was acting alone. I thought how he needed more people to help him make his statement.
