Micah Takes Me to Work

Micah picks me up from my dad’s house in her shiny, new black SUV. It’s like a Lexus, but maybe more Ford like. She waits in the driveway while I finish up my outfit change, making sure I look good for my last day of work. I was wearing all gold and black with a red shirt, but I decided to switch to a navy blouse and a knee-length, flow-y skirt to match. I had set my wallet and $25 gift card aside to make sure I hadn’t forgotten it, but on the way out, I forgot them both anyway. I hadn’t noticed yet. Micah and I were both seated in the back seats, myself on the driver’s side and her on the passenger side. I didn’t think much of it. The car started to drive by itself, and soon, we were taking excitedly about random things. We were on I-5(?) heading South towards Portland when I really realized the car was driving itself. I was in awe until I noticed we were changing lanes without a blinker and I thought we were just randomly drifting. I was freaked out until I saw that no other car was around us for a good 100 feet, so we were relatively safe. We ended up in Portland before I realized I didn’t have my gift card or wallet, and we were nowhere near my work. I told Micah that we had gone too far (apparently my work was in Vancouver) and that we’d need to go back to my house since there was still plenty of time. There was more to the dream, but I wired to complete writing it for too long, so now I don’t remember.
